Congratulations - second highest city in Spain

For those who are not aware from the articles in the local press recently, following great efforts the Orihuela Costa has been awarded a fantastic 11 Blue Flag awards for its beaches.

The Blue Flag is the highest achievement for a beach, meeting water quality standards, beach cleanliness, public information systems and lifeguard rescue services. Local authorities were also recognised for the improved accessibility for users with disabilities.

 Those beaches that have been awarded are: Punta Prima, Cala Bosque (La Zenia), La Caleta (Cabo Roig), Cala Capitan (Cabo Roig), Aquamarina, Campoamor, Barranco rubio, Cala Estaca, Cala Mosca, Cala Cerrada and Mil Palmeras.

 Orihuela which includes the Costas, ranks second in the ranking of cities with the most Blue Flags in Spain.
